Sustainability

Our sustainability strategy

Practical priorities for a road freight business, built into how every load is planned and moved.

Priorities that match the work we do

Wyvern Freight is a Zimbabwe-based road freight operator serving markets across SADC. Our biggest effects are on fuel use and road safety, on the people who drive and handle freight, on the corridors and towns we pass through, and on how fairly business is done. Our strategy starts there.

Four priorities

  • Responsible transport

Planning routes and loads, maintaining vehicles and controlling fuel, oils and waste.

    Read about Environment
  • People, safety and wellbeing

Fitness for duty, fatigue awareness, safe loading and reporting problems early.

    Read about Social Responsibility
  • Communities and regional trade

Carrying what the region depends on, with care for the places the corridors pass through.

    Read about communities
  • Conduct and accountability

Ethical conduct, published policies and a confidential way to raise concerns.

    Read about Integrity

Part of operations, not a separate programme

These priorities sit inside our SHEQ standard, which applies to every load we move. They shape how cargo is scoped, how equipment is chosen, how routes are planned, how documents are prepared and how delivery is confirmed.

Shared with the people we work with

  • Our operations team

Scopes each movement, coordinates the controls it needs and escalates material risks.

  • Drivers and depot teams

Complete the required checks, follow instructions and report hazards, defects and incidents.

  • Customers

Declare complete cargo descriptions, weights, regulated contents, handling needs and documents.

  • Contractors and partners

Follow the safety, conduct, documentation and quality requirements of the work they do.

What we do today, and what comes next

In place today

  • A SHEQ standard applied to every load: planning, checks, fitness for duty and incident reporting
  • A published Code of Ethics and Modern Slavery Statement for our people and suppliers
  • A confidential Integrity Line for reporting concerns

Next, when it can be verified

  • Measuring transport emissions with a recognised method before any figure is published
  • Publishing sustainability information once it is real and verified
